New York Bridal Market

For many brides the biggest excitement to the planning process is picking out the gown that you'll be marrying the man of your dreams in! Every bride has a different vision and style that they are looking for and there isn't a better time to be looking for wedding dresses than the next few months as the new styles show up at your favorite bridal shops windows! One of A Delightful Day's former assistants, Kimberly, had the ultimate pleasure of being able to enjoy Bridal Week in NYC and here is her account and some photos of her journey!

Kimberly-

    Bridal Week in NYC was like floating on blue and white puffy clouds!  I was excited to see the latest visions from the industry's best.  Sashes and hair embellishments were everywhere, as well as gowns with rose detail and tons of lace!  Bride of the year Kate Middleton has surely inspired many of the collections with the appearance of sleeves, and tiaras among the jewelers.

I met with Sara Garbriel, designer of custom veiling and headpieces.  She will make your vision for yourself as a bride a reality with her stunning handiwork.  I even got to try on a birdcage veil with feathers.  Adore!  Visit www.saragabriel.com for more!

The Junko Yohioka show was another favorite moment of the week.  The three quarter sleeve gown with back cutout was met with gasps from bridal fashion's front row.  Visit www.junkoyoshioka.com.  Leanne Marshall Bridal was another favorite line that I previewed.  Her take on bridal fashion is fresh yet reminiscent.  The shapes are fun and flattering while making you feel like you're paying homage to an era of great romance.

I also got to visit with Nashville's own Olia Zavozina, who had brought with her several new designs that left me wide eyed and smiling!  Her use of lace is unparalleled, and I always love Olia's passion for making a bride's dreams come true.  Nothing makes her happier than to see a bride celebrate such a special day in a gown they created together.
